Our Funds

"Your support has undoubtedly made a difference in the lives of many children and families in this community. Thank you."

Kimberley Johnson, Gordon Neighbourhood House

In 2007 Business Objects employees granted $363K US to 52 organizations globally that provide access to education for vulnerable children and youth. 121 employees on 13 grant teams in 14 cities championed the process of identifying potential recipients, learning about their organizations and the programs they offer, visiting the charities to observe and learn and then finally making the tough decisions on which organizations will receive a grant. The employees assess the breadth, depth and sustainability of the programs put forward. In 2007, Business Objects Foundation gifts have positively impacted almost 7,000 children.

The Foundation experience has a special effect on our employees who participate:

We place a special focus on financial support for vulnerable children and youth. The Business Objects Foundation funds educational and technology programs for young people with two main goals:

Our Focus on Children and Youth

The Business Objects Foundation funds core curriculum and technology programs for vulnerable children and youthSince 2002, more than 121 grants have been made in Canada, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. Employee leadership makes them happen. Over 80 employees around the world volunteer on the Business Objects employee grant teams. They review funding applications, conduct site visits, and make final grant recommendations to a group of senior executives on our foundation board. In each major center, the work of our foundation is guided by a community foundation partner. Our thanks go to the Vancouver Foundation, Community Foundation Silicon Valley, and Berkshire Community Foundation for their guidance.

Our Grants

From science education to speech therapy, our grants are as diverse as the employees who nominate them. The Business Objects Foundation has been active since 2002.
